Another edition of the Nuclear Energy Open House at the Silesian University of Technology has come to a close—an event dedicated to the development of the nuclear sector, as well as the skills and career paths available in this industry.

This year's event, held at the PŚ Education and Congress Center, was attended by approximately 350 people—including college students, high school students, and representatives from academia and industry.

One of the featured sessions was a workshop organized by Women in Nuclear Polska titled “Female and Male Engineers in the Nuclear Energy Sector—From Curiosity to Career.”

Katarzyna Kalend, Katarzyna Kiegiel, Patrycja Nowakowska, Monika Silva, and Katarzyna Zasadni shared their experiences and practical tips on career planning, developing skills, and building professional relationships in the industry.

Patrycja Nowakowska, attorney-at-law, counsel and expert in the Energy and Natural Resources Practice at KKG Legal, highlighted the practical aspects of networking—from attending events and speaking with experts to strategically building a presence on LinkedIn. Participants also worked on their own career maps, defining their professional goals, the skills they want to develop, and the first concrete step they will take over the next 30 days.

KKG Legal was also represented at the event by Patrycja Wysocka, attorney-at-law, co-managing partner and head of KKG Legal’s Energy and Natural Resources Practice.

On the same day, a conference was also held to launch the 4NEW project—“Plan and Pilot Program for Activities Supporting the Development of Competencies and Human Resources for the Nuclear Sector in Poland,” co-financed by the National Center for Research and Development. KKG Legal is a stakeholder in the project's economic and legal affairs task.

We would like to thank the Silesian University of Technology and Women in Nuclear Polska for creating a space to discuss competencies, collaboration, and the future of nuclear energy.
