Agnieszka Trzaska-Śmieszek, attorney-at-law, a partner at KKG Legal, moderated the panel “Class Actions in Poland: "The Story So Far," which took place on June 12 during the Collective Redress & Litigation Funding CEE conference as part of Warsaw Disputes Days 2026.

The discussion focused on the experiences to date regarding the operation of class actions in Poland, their practical significance, and the prospects for the further development of this form of litigation.

Class actions have been part of the Polish legal system for over 16 years, but they are still not a widely used tool in civil litigation practice. The panelists discussed the causes of this phenomenon, the barriers to pursuing class-action lawsuits, and the factors that could make them more effective in the coming years.

The following individuals participated in the panel: Michał Ziemiak, Sylwia Żyrek, Karolina Panfil, and Paweł Pietkiewicz.

Also in attendance at the event were Magdalena Osmęda, attorney-at-law, a senior associate at KKG Legal, and Jakub Gąsiorek, a junior associate at KKG Legal.

The Collective Redress & Litigation Funding CEE Conference was part of Warsaw Disputes Days—a series of events bringing together representatives of the regional dispute resolution community and focusing on current developments in dispute resolution practice.

KKG Legal was a sponsor of the conference.
