On 26 October 2018, the University of Warsaw hosted an Oxford-style debate on investment arbitration entitled “The 8th Warsaw Investment Arbitration Debate”; the motto of the event was “The Evolving Boundaries of the Right to Regulate”.

The thesis of the debate was: This house believes that every regulatory taking, no matter the purpose of the regulation, must be compensated. Maciej Durbas, attorney-at-law and senior associate at Kubas Kos Gałkowski, was one of the panellists.
