First Congress on Polish Class Action Mechanisms Organised by KKG
Conference
30 September 2024
The first Polish Congress on Class Action Mechanisms took place on 30 September. It was organised by KKG in cooperation with Must Read Media Publishing. The event, which was held online, brought together a large number of lawyers, experts, and individuals interested in the legal field of class action.
During the congress, participants had the opportunity to explore both theoretical and practical aspects of group litigation, which is playing an increasingly important role in the Polish legal system. Speakers presented the evolution of class actions over the past 14 years and discussed the new opportunities created by legislative changes.
The speakers included experienced lawyers from KKG’s class actions and group claims practice, including head Agnieszka Trzaska-Śmieszek and co-head Dominik Gałkowski, as well as experts Maria Łuszpińska and Magdalena Osmęda. They discussed various aspects of group proceedings, such as ‘classic’ class actions, the new sub-type of proceedings and the prospects for representative actions.
The event also covered the financing of group actions, including third-party financing, which is an increasingly important element in the successful pursuit of claims in this form of proceedings.
We want to thank all participants for attending
