Varia
2 June 2017
The 6th edition of the Lewiatan Arbitration Competition, organised by the Lewiatan Court of Arbitration in Warsaw in cooperation with the Young Arbitration Practitioners Poland (YAPP), came to an end. The competition case concerned a dispute between a company management board member and a company, against the background of a motivational programme. The competition consisted of two stages: a written and an oral one. During both stages, the participants took on the roles of attorneys ad litem acting on behalf of the parties, developed strategies to be applied in conducting the case, drew up letters in the proceedings, and represented the parties during moot court hearings. The Lewiatan Arbitration Competition remains the largest contest of this type addressed at attorney and legal counsel trainees in Poland to-date.
Mr. Kamil Zawicki, attorney-at-law, co-managing partner at Kubas Kos Gałkowski, appeared in the capacity of the arbitrator in the semi-finals phase. Rafał Kos, PhD, attorney-at-law, partner at Kubas Kos Gałkowski, acted as an arbitrator in the quarter-finals of the competition, whereas Mr. Maciej Zaleśkiewicz, attorney-at-law, and Mr. Krzysztof Ściborowski, attorney-at-law, senior associates at Kubas Kos Gałkowski, sat on the jury in the qualifiers phase.
