Conclusion of This Year’s Edition of the School of American Law

On 12 June the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University hosted the concluding ceremony of this year’s edition of the School of American Law conducted by the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America in Washington.
During the first part of the ceremony, Professor Leah Wortham, the Head of the American Law Program, was decorated with the Plus ratio quam vis medal, awarded to persons distinguished for eminent services to the Jagiellonian University.
The second part of the ceremony included speeches delivered by: Professor Jerzy Pisuliński, the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University, Professors of the Catholic University of America: Professor Leah Wortham and Professor Rett Ludwikowski, as well as Thomas Zia, Deputy Consul of Political-Economic Affairs of the U.S. Consulate General In Krakow. Dr Rafał Kos, a partner at Kubas Kos Gałkowski, and Professor Leah Wortham also awarded scholarships to the program’s best graduates.
The main goal of the School of American Law is to provide Polish students with an opportunity to broaden the knowledge of legal English, as well obtain specialist skills and knowledge on the U.S. legal and political system – including both its basics and specialised areas. Program participants also have an opportunity to become familiar with American teaching methods.
