Success of the JU team in the Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot

We would like to inform you that the Jagiellonian University team, composed of: Grzegorz Goniewicz, Artur Krępy, Damian Łapki, Łukasz Zbyszyński and Aleksandra Żanowska took 3rd place in the largest and most prestigious competition devoted to investment arbitration – Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot. This year, the competition was held at  the Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California in the United States and Kamil Zawicki, KKG’s partner is the team’s coach. FDI Moot is a competition aimed at making law students familiar with the issues of dispute resolution between investors and states though investment arbitration. The competition entails the representation of parties to a fictitious dispute and the state based on a case prepared by the organizers. The participants’ task is to write procedural letters for both sides of the dispute, and then represent each of the parties in the course of oral rounds, taking place during the final round of the competition. The topic and the rounds themselves also constitute a unique opportunity to become familiar with the latest trends and the current issues in investment arbitration.
