On 12 May, a meeting with Janusz Piechociński, Minister of Economy as well as Mariusz Haładyja, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Economy, with students representing the Jagiellonian University team which achieved great success in the finals of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot was held at the Ministry of Economics.
The role and meaning of mediation in commercial dispute resolution were the main topics of the meeting. The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Economy is undertaking steps aimed at popularising alternative commercial dispute resolution methods. He also noted that a team has been appointed, the aim of which is a needs assessment for the changes in the law as well as the preparation of recommendations both in this scope as well as in non-legislative matters.
