Moreover, the students from Krakow received a distinction for their procedural letter. As a result, the Team confirmed its position as not only the best in Poland, but also in all of Central and Eastern Europe and one of the best in Europe and the world.

The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot competition is recognized as the most prestigious law students’ competition in the world. This is attested to not only from the rank and number of participating universities as well as the prestige of its organizers, but also the fact that the work of the students was evaluated by the best academic practitioners and representatives who take on the role of arbiters for the purposes of the Competition.

The Competition takes place in two editions – in Vienna and in Hong Kong. In the previous editions in Vienna, Jagiellonian University’s team ended the competition with the leading positions, two times ranked in the eight best teams of the world (2010 and 2012). As a result, Jagiellonian University is recognized and can boast its well deserved renown both in arbitration and academic circles. Year after year, Jagiellonian University students prove, thanks to their unique academic and intellectual efforts, that they can match the world’s top ranking teams, and their skills and level of knowledge invoke the respect of the other participants. This constitutes the best possible advertisement of the high quality of education of Polish law students.

The team has been supported by KKG from the very beginning of its existence, both financial and on a content related basis. For the past four years the team’s supervisor has been Maciej Durbas and as of this year Kuba Gąsiorowski, both KKG junior associates – previously Jagiellonian University team members, who took 5th place in the world respectively in 2010 and 2012. An international preparatory contest preparing for the Competition was held at KKG in March 2014.
