On December 11-12, 2024, the Warsaw School of Economics hosted the seventh edition of the AREOPAGUS of Renewable Energy , an event that for years has been a key platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience between RES market participants, independent experts, expert organizations and representatives of ministries responsible for creating the legal framework for the Polish renewable energy sector and sustainable energy transition.
The event discussed the most current challenges and issues facing the industry and local communities. Discussions also focused on new trends and potential directions for the RES sector.
The first day of the conference included Session I: GRID PACKAGE - REGULATORY CHANGES IN GRID ACCESS AND COOPERATION, attended by Patrycja Wysocka. She and other experts discussed key regulatory issues and challenges in the operation of the RES market, including:
- The prospect of increasing the availability of connection capacity,
- Challenges in improving the connection process,
- Non-market redistribution vs. profitability of RES installations - compensation, transparency, proportionality
- Challenges and benefits of the market for flexibility services,
- Determinants of the implementation of network development plans.
The Prof. Krzysztof Żmijewski Association organized the conference for Efficiency, and the event reaffirmed its role as one of the most important forums for discussing the future of renewable energy sources in Poland.
We would like to thank all participants for their attendance and engagement in the substantive discussions. We are pleased that we were able to discuss the key regulatory aspects and challenges facing the RES market together.
