On 27 November, Kamil Zawicki and Ewa Przyśliwska-Urbanek, attorneys at law, participated as social legal experts of the Coalition for Safety and the Development of Cosmetology in a meeting organised by the Ministry of Development and Technology, Department of Small and Medium Enterprises.

The meeting brought together representatives of various circles, including representatives of non-public universities training to become cosmetologists, insurers operating in the market, distributors of advanced technologies and products, as well as the Polish Confederation Lewiatan, within which the industry’s Beauty Sector Employers organisation operates.

The discussion covered such issues as:

  • The past achievements of the cosmetology profession

The achievements of this unique specialised profession are presented on a European scale.

  • Aesthetic market analysis

Opportunities and challenges facing the advanced aesthetics market were discussed.

The dangers of the shadow economy, which affect both clients and the development of the cosmetology profession, have been identified.

  • Continuing education and professional development

The need to continuously improve the qualifications and professional competence of the cosmetology community was emphasised.

  • The need for legal regulations

The need for transparent, universal and fair regulations that will contribute to the professionalisation of the market was pointed out.

The Cosmetology Coalition hopes that such meetings will open the way to solving the problems and ills of the profession and the market, for the benefit of the safety of consumers using it.
