2nd US-CEE Connection Weekend: US and EU Perspectives on ESG: Towards a Sustainable World or a Dangerous Utopia?
Conference
29 June 2024
On June 28-29, 2024, the second edition of the “US-CEE Connection Weekend” conference was held at Collegium Novum of Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. The event, organized by the Faculty of Law and Administration at Jagiellonian University and the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., brought together a large number of lawyers, entrepreneurs, government officials and ESG and sustainability enthusiasts.
The conference kicked off on Friday, June 28, with a workshop for students and information sessions on the American Law Program. Participants had the opportunity to expand their knowledge of American law, which provided an excellent introduction to further discussions on ESG and sustainability. The day ended with a closing ceremony and concert at Collegium Novum, which created a unique atmosphere for networking and sharing experiences.
Saturday’s program featured four panel discussions that attracted the attention of both speakers and listeners.
Highlights of the program:
- Panel #1: Conceptualizing ESG and Sustainability
- Panel #2: Differing EU and US Approaches to Promoting ESG Goals
- Panel #3: Competing Visions of Corporate Interests and ESG Goals
- Panel #4: Law and Business Perspectives on Practice Challenges in Meeting ESG Requirements
