His practice focuses on commercial and civil disputes, helping clients minimize risk and achieve favorable outcomes – whether in the courtroom or through negotiation and mediation.
Represents clients in high-value, multi-jurisdictional litigation and arbitration, and also serves as an arbitrator and tribunal secretary. Has experience with nearly all major arbitration rules in Poland, as well as key international rules, including ICC, SCC, FAI, UNCITRAL, and ad hoc arbitration. He is listed as a recommended arbitrator before several arbitral institutions in Poland and abroad.
Maciej advises and represents clients across a broad range of sectors, including mergers and acquisitions, construction, automotive, banking, life sciences, insurance, rail and rolling stock, real estate, retail, and telecommunications.
Beyond dispute resolution, he supports clients in real estate matters, from lease and sale transactions to investment processes and administrative, judicial, and administrative-court proceedings, including reprivatization disputes. He also conducts internal investigations and compliance audits, and advises on asset tracing and asset recovery.
Maciej holds a PhD in Law from Jagiellonian University (2021), where he defended his dissertation, "Adjudication of Arbitral Jurisdiction," with distinction. He also earned an LL.M. with honors in international arbitration (University of Vienna / City University of Hong Kong) and completed the ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy for Central and Eastern Europe and the SCC Diploma Course. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) in London. He regularly publishes articles and speaks at industry conferences. Through his active presence on LinkedIn, he promotes best practices in arbitration and dispute resolution, helping advance the legal profession. He co-authored the new arbitration rules of the Lewiatan Arbitration Court, where he serves on the Arbitration Committee.
Maciej lectures on arbitration law and civil procedure, and provides professional training in international arbitration and advocacy. As a coach of the Jagiellonian University team competing in the Willem C. Vis Moot and as a mentor with the Moot Alumni Association and the Institute for Transnational Arbitration, he actively supports the next generation of legal professionals.
